FIELD VISIT TO NATIONAL ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN - DEHIWALA

BAMS Undergraduates of Level IV, annually attend a field visit programme to National Zoological Garden – Dehiwala under the practical component of CHAG 41092 Agadatantra (Toxicology) subject of their curriculum.

Objectives of the Field Visit:

·       Identify poisonous and non-poisonous snakes in Sri Lanka

·     Acknowledge on the breeding methods and breeding sites of poisonous      snakes

·       Taking measures to prevent from bites fatal or complicated bites of snakes

Programme:

The field visit was organized by Department of Cikitsa, Gampaha Wickramarachchi Ayurveda Institute on 04th April 2019. The programme was begun at 9.00 am and wind up at 04.00 pm.

Schedule:        09.00 am – 12.00 noon – Introduction on poisonous and non-poisonous snakes and their behavior

                        01.00 pm – 04.00 pm – Identify poisonous and non-poisonous snakes

Participants:                72 Undergraduates of BAMS Level IV
